Candid Convos with Alix Rubin

Candid Convos featuring Alix Rubin, hosted by Joe Bravo.

Welcome to another episode of Candid Convos! Our show, where amazing business leaders share their valuable insights and experiences with our host, Joe Bravo (GSU’s Senior Community Coordinator). In this episode, we would like to welcome Alix Rubin, an attorney, and founder of Rubin Employment Law. Join us and learn more about how to eliminate discrimination in the workplace and the benefits of expanding your team with offshore talent.

Integrity & Fairness

Alix’s goal is to help employers and employees resolve their disputes cost-effectively. She litigates on behalf of either the employer or the employee to favorably resolve disputes in the areas of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, etc. Alix has been a lawyer for more than 25 years and has distinguished herself and her firm with incredible work, allowing employees and employers to be happy. A good work environment is essential for your business to thrive.

When Alix first represented an employee who was being discriminated against for a disability, that’s when she found out employment law was her calling. Always making sure her potential clients are people of integrity because, as an employer, it is ok to fail, but not when it’s intentional. She will not represent individuals who won’t stand by her core values.

Hybrid Hiring

Alix shares with Joe how running a business has to be a priority for any law firm owner; you can’t do everything yourself. She recommends hiring more talented employees for your firm to be able to help more people. It took Alix a while to understand she was not only practicing law but running a business. Having enough employees to sustain the business and do the work is essential to growth.

After the pandemic ended, she hired a virtual marketing assistant when she realized most of the work could be done remotely. Even though the hybrid model can be challenging, it works. Larger organizations need to be more careful regarding virtual people; they need to be nurtured as well. It’s essential to make everyone feel comfortable and part of your team.

Alix closes with valuable insight; having the right people and the right policies will take you to the next level. When you hire someone new, you need to introduce him/her to the in-house and virtual team. Take advantage of the new possibilities that have been unlocked, thanks to efficient virtual working with committed offshore talent. HIRE YOUR PERSONAL VIRTUAL ASSISTANT HERE.
