In this episode, we would like to welcome, Christy Granieri. Christy is an attorney and founding partner of Freeburg & Granieri, APC. She also represents and counsels employers on various employment-related matters. Join us and prepare to discover the challenges and benefits when a leader is faced with a decision to expand.
Becoming a Successful Leader
Christy’s path first lead her into the advertising world, which she quickly realized was not a great fit for her. After counseling, she decided to apply to law school to become a lawyer, which turned out to be the best career choice. Gradually she started honing her skills and thanks to a great mentorship, Christy was able to learn valuable insights into how a law firm operates as a business.
After some time working within a great law firm, Christy decided it was time to take the next step to become a business leader and law firm owner herself. Thanks to her previous experiences, she knew how to deal with employees and nurture a great work culture in her office. Running the business became her top priority and gradually she started building a powerful hybrid team. Christy states the importance of making everyone in your firm feel included, especially offshore teammates.
The Importance of Planning
Christy shares with Joe how carefully planning with her partner was crucial from the start. They were able to tackle different aspects of their law firm that they knew would be fundamental to its success with the plan upfront. Expanding her team with virtual assistants was important in their growth as well. A great number of her clients speak Spanish so having a bilingual team member came to fruition swiftly. VAs also allowed Christy to keep pushing for a completely paperless law practice.
Onboarding must be a part of your planning process, preparing an agenda and integrating employees for them to have clear expectations of their respective roles. Building a great and reliable team has to be a top priority in your business. Sometimes the plan might need to change, and that’s ok. However, having the main blueprint of your action plan will allow you to take better decisions. Making mistakes is normal, improving upon them and becoming better is the key to success and one of the most rewarding aspects of being a leader.
Christy closes the conversation with a great statement: “It’s wonderful to create something that works and helps people, even if it is a challenge”. You can create an amazing team as well with the added might of incredible offshore virtual assistants. Save money and level up your law firm today. FIND THE TOP 1% OF VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS HERE.
