We’re excited to share our newest episode of Candid Convos; where we discuss virtual staffing in the new remote economy with a business owner, or lawyer, who utilizes virtual staff. This time, our featured guest is Rich Bracken, founder of Rich Bracken Consulting. Rich Bracken is a salesperson, marketer, and client service expert. He has served numerous clients, sharing insights and strategies to implement sustainable positive change, and leveraging the power of emotional intelligence, empathy, and mental awareness.
In this episode, Joe, the host, and Rich Bracken talk about the international tool essential for building relationships in any type of business — emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive, control, and evaluate emotions. If it is well implemented, it helps defuse conflict and overcome challenges. They address how the legal industry has the second-lowest emotional intelligence rate among others, and the impact of the strategies attorneys can implement by focusing on time management, active listening, and empathy with their coworkers, clients, and partners.
Emotional Intelligence
Rich has always loved crowds and public speaking, and with his experience and passion for it, he was able to find a way to fusion both topics. It was not until a terrible day when Rich thought he was experiencing a heart attack, that his doctor indicated to him what a panic attack was, due to severe stress and anxiety.
Additionally, Joe and Rich analyze the difference that can be made when attorneys change their attitude during high-pressure situations, like preparing themselves before chatting with a strict client, if they know that the person is prone to having a hard temper; or when talking to a referred client, sometimes even if someone gives better results than you, people will stick to your work because they love your customer service; and even finding efficient solutions, rather than giving out empty answers to those who surround you.
