Candid Convos with Lydia Desnoyers

Lydia Desnoyers and our Brand Ambassador, Joe Bravo.

Welcome to yet another episode of Candid Convos! The space where we discuss all virtual staffing in the new remote economy with either a business owner or lawyer who employs virtual staff. This time around, our featured guest is Lydia Desnoyers. Lydia is the founder and owner of DesCPA Business Advisory, a Miami-based CPA Firm specializing in Business Advisory and Virtual CFO Solutions since 2010. Today, Lydia and her diverse team empower Women-Owned Law Firms, Small Businesses, and CPAs to have the business and life of their dreams through her firm’s core solutions.

In this episode, Joe, the host, and Lydia Desnoyers talk about businesswomen empowerment. They begin by discussing how Lydia went from working in corporate to running a successful firm for over 10 years. She mentions that it all comes down to hard work, paying attention to the business, and making bold moves. Lydia’s business has changed over the years from traditional accounting tasks to advisory work. During the early stages of her career, she spotted the need from business owners for advice. Specifically, on what financial information should be used to make important decisions that would allow them to grow their firms.

Change of Mindset

Together with her passion for helping businesses grow, is her passion for empowering businesswomen. As a female professional Lydia has encountered situations where women are treated differently than men. Some of these may be external factors, but there are many internal factors that pull women back from reaching their full potential.

One of the reasons why Lydia is so successful at what she does is because she focuses on removing mental blocks and changing women’s mindsets. She challenges businesswomen to reach their full potential. Another reason why her business is successful is because of her wonderful organizational culture. She currently has 2 virtual assistants from Get Staffed Up working with her. Her marketing assistant has helped her grow her company by portraying the right image and values on all platforms.

Joe then asks Lydia if her VAs have lived up to the standards, to which she replied- “absolutely”. She is very happy with the way they’re able to capture her goals and ambitions. And even though they’re all in a virtual space, she makes it clear that they’re first a team. Lastly, Joe thanks Lydia for sharing the barriers she has had to overcome as a professional and as a woman.
