Lead To Succeed Podcast featuring Get Staffed Up's CEO and Co-Founder, Brett Trembly

On January 27th, 2022, Brett Trembly, attorney, best-selling author, and co-founder of Get Staffed Up, was featured on the Lead to Succeed Podcast. Hosted by Callum and Rebecca Jenkins. Rebecca is an award-winning business growth consultant, business coach, and author dedicated to helping companies find, gain and grow clients. In this podcast, today’s leaders share practical advice and tips on leadership and business growth.

In this great episode, Rebecca and Brett discuss practical tips for leaders looking to grow their virtual teams. Brett shares his challenges before coming to the realization of needing to onboard a team member. For the first 2 years of his career, Brett did everything in the company. From answering his phone, scanning documents, e-filling, researching, networking, and yet, he wasn’t growing.  He was sabotaging his own time! Instead of spending time on legal work, he was busy doing marketing. In the summer of 2014, a friend convinced him to hire someone to do all the little admin tasks that were getting in his way. He shares that he doubled his revenue in the first month of hiring, and has been growing ever since.

Get Staffed Up (GSU) was born from the idea that there is a better and cheaper way to grow your law firm. GSU provides freedom to entrepreneurs who don’t have time to grow their businesses or spend time with their families. Brett explains how an attorney may describe their desired position to hire and be matched with the top 1% virtual assistant.

Own Your Own Time

Rebecca and Brett, further discuss helpful tips to grow a business. They begin with “Niches bring riches”, which forces you to think about what it is that differentiates you from a competitor. Secondly, realize whether your business is for you, or if there is a bigger purpose behind it. And although there is no right or wrong answer, it is important, to be honest with yourself. Furthermore, Brett mentions the importance of having a great culture and hiring the right people. As well as, shifting focus from people outside the business to people inside the business.

Lastly, Rebecca asks for some insights on how to grow a virtual team. Brett responds that he wants to free lawyers and take them to a place where they own their own time. This can be done by creating a virtual culture, meaning, having meeting rhythms, inside jokes, office hours, and involving everyone in the business decisions.
