Q2 2024 was a whirlwind of insightful engagements and influential sessions for Get Staffed Up. Our team had the privilege of participating in three major industry events, sharing our expertise and networking with top legal professionals.
These events were particularly special to us because the organizers are esteemed clients we greatly admire. So, without further ado, here’s a recap of the highlights from the Law Firm Mentor Retreat, the Law Firm Growth Summit, and Raise the Bar Live:
1. Law Firm Mentor Retreat
The Law Firm Mentor Retreat, organized by attorney Allison Williams, Founder, and CEO of Law Firm Mentor, took place in Dallas, TX, from April 25th to April 27th, 2024. Law Firm Mentor is a business coaching service dedicated to helping solo and small firm attorneys enhance their revenues and streamline their operations through improved processes and innovative technologies. This retreat brought together over 100 law firm owners for three days of engaging workshops and impactful general sessions.
The first day kicked off with a memorable dinner where all attendees participated in a unique and engaging exercise. Attendees were scattered across different tables, each representing a team of 6-8 people. The challenge was to assign roles such as CEO, Chief of Finance, Chief of Marketing, and more to each person at the table. Additionally, we had to decide who from the table would be fired, providing justifications for each decision. It was a tense but fun experience, as the staff critically questioned all our choices. We learned a lot from this exercise and gained valuable insights from the staff’s feedback.
The next morning, Colleen Young, CMO of Get Staffed Up, delivered a compelling session titled “Cost-Benefit of Staffing: Be the Lawyer, Not the Assistant.” In her session, she unlocked the secret to maximizing law firm efficiency through virtual staffing. Attendees learned about smart delegation, trends, and strategies that allow lawyers to focus on their core competencies, dramatically boosting profitability and reclaiming valuable time.

2. Law Firm Growth Summit
The Law Firm Growth Summit, organized by Moshe Amsel, CEO of Profit with Law and Dream Builder Financial, LLC, is the legal industry’s premier virtual conference designed for law firm owners and key personnel. This year’s summit attracted thousands of participants and featured over 30 industry experts. The event’s format ensured an engaging experience with hands-on workshops, networking events, and numerous prizes.
Since this event is virtual, our entire virtual team was able to register, thanks to the free limited access offered. This allowed us to network with many attorneys and attend interesting sessions led by top industry leaders who shared amazing insights. It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to engage, learn, and expand our professional connections from the comfort of our own homes.
At this event, three of our Chiefs hosted amazing sessions:
- Brett Trembly, CEO of Get Staffed Up, delivered a powerful keynote session titled “Overcoming Your Fear of Failure.” In his talk, Brett shared his journey of discovering and overcoming the fear of failure, offering attendees valuable insights on how to conquer this hidden obstacle to achieve success.
- Colleen’s main stage presentation, “80/20 Staffing for Law Firms,” provided a roadmap for optimal efficiency. She discussed seven key positions and a 24-month plan to transform law firm workflows through strategic delegation.
- Jesse Mahle, CXO and CSO of Get Staffed Up, presented a breakout session called “Maximizing Client Satisfaction: Unveiling the Power of Net Promoter Score in Law Firms,”where he highlighted the importance of Net Promoter Score (NPS) in measuring client loyalty and advocacy. He offered practical strategies to enhance client experiences and foster lasting relationships.

3. Raise the Bar Live
Raise the Bar Live, organized by Jayden Doye, CPA, Author, and Speaker, is the go-to conference for scaling a seven-figure law firm without compromising one’s values. Held in Atlanta, GA, from June 18th to June 21st, 2024, the event addressed the root issues facing law firms and provided attendees with strategies to transform their practices.
Jayden Doye, the dynamic host, encouraged participants to exceed their own expectations, emphasizing that with the right support and talent in the room, anything is possible. “Close your eyes, think of your business, now multiply it ten times fold… it can happen, and you will see how,” Jayden inspired. Besides Brett and Colleen, the event featured other top-notch speakers like Jennifer Gore-Cuthbert and Regina Edwards from Lawyers on the Beach, and was marked by interactive workshops, team facilitations, and dynamic panel discussions. Despite the cold temperature, the energy and enthusiasm among attendees were palpable, making it a truly memorable experience.
At this event, Brett and Colleen hosted two amazing sessions:
- Brett’s keynote session on Thursday, titled “Brand Builders: Assembling a Powerhouse Marketing Team for Your Law Firm,” provided invaluable insights on creating a robust marketing team to drive law firm growth.
- Colleen captivated the audience on Friday with her talk on “Leadership Through Delegation: Building a Stronger Law Firm.” She emphasized the importance of strategic delegation and provided a clear plan to enhance law firm operations.
