Candid Convos with Suzanne Shams

Candid Convos featuring Suzanne Shams, hosted by Joe Bravo.

It’s Candid Convos time! That’s right the show where our host, Joe Bravo (GSU’s Senior Community Coordinator), interviews great business leaders. For this episode, please welcome Suzanne Shams! An incredible life coach for lawyers and professionals, who guides, helps, and assists lawyers to become the best version they can be. By being more confident, energized, peaceful, and joyful. Come and learn what it means to have a clear mind and feel fulfilled by joining us in this warm and insightful conversation.

Under the Shadow of Burnout

The negative feelings you might experience during burnout might seem overwhelming, however, you need to breathe and determine what is most important to you in your life. Suzanne shares a vivid example with her own story, where she suffered from burnout and was not able to feel fulfilled and enjoy her life. Achieving your dreams and becoming successful looks like the recipe to being forever happy. However, without true contemplation and self-reflecting on your life priorities and what truly makes you whole, it’s possible to feel like something is missing.

Suzanne started to hear stories from her colleagues and realized how many people were being victims of the dark shadow of burnout, even after achieving their supposed life goals. Continuous exposure to burnout radiation has not only short-term effects but also long-term ones. Clients have shared with Suzanne how they feel, reaching a point where they became apathetic, suffering from extreme exhaustion and a sense of an aimless life experience.

The Voice Commanding You

Going through life’s motions and lacking time for self-reflecting might not seem like a discomfort at first, but it quickly accumulates in your mind and later develops into an illness. As Suzanne recommends, you should take time out to rest and contemplate calmly the panorama of your life. After falling ill, Suzanne was forced by life to begin working on herself. When she realized that she did not allow enough time for herself, something clicked and the way to her mindfulness recovery was on track.

Now comes another character in our quest for self-completion, the feared double-edged sword of listening to your own thoughts. While powerful and helpful, it is also vicious and malignant. Suzanne emphasizes avoiding being commanded by your own voice. It’s much better to listen and work with your own voice. Identify the thoughts that align with what you truly believe. The power of focused breathing and resting to recharge yourself is highly advised. Avoid becoming reactionary, as opposed to intentional. Meditating allows you time to reflect on your own thoughts, and with self-compassion, you can identify positive thinking vs negative thinking. You will feel the healthy effect of a real sense of purpose and motivation to keep evolving.

Virtual assistant

In conclusion, having a guide, coach, or teacher in your life is recommended, especially for lawyers and business leaders who strive for perfection. Wandering without contemplation and accumulating mind debris will ultimately generate stress and a sense of emptiness. Reflect, heal yourself, and prepare for the ultimate, mightiest version of yourself. Delegating is crucial to allow yourself time to focus on what truly matters to you, we can gladly assist you with the most amazing offshore staffing for your business. Feel free to contact us and we will guide you right away in finding the best personal assistant for you. FIND YOUR VIRTUAL ASSISTANT HERE.
