MAY We Help You Free Up More of Your Time?

Happy May! But can you believe one-third of 2019 is already over?  Don’t we say this every year, yet it still surprises us nonetheless?

Serious question – what did you do in January, February, March and/or April to push your business forward and make your life better?  We would genuinely love to hear from you.

Or, did you simply put out fires, tread water, and spend your time reacting to what the day brought you?  If so, don’t feel bad – this is how 90% of business owners spend their time.  The other 10% used to be there with you – until they decided to take action and say “no more.”

Strangely enough – taking just one day per quarter to focus solely ON your business – to look at your organizational chart (this is a more powerful session than any of us give credit, by the way), to analyze your people, to discuss your marketing and sales, and to make a plan of action for fixing even just ONE THING in your business – isn’t as hard as most people make it out to be.  So why don’t more of us do it?  Why do we continue to put out fires and let our day control us instead of controlling our day?  If we know and believe that we deserve better and the answer is to take action and make change, why don’t we?

I don’t have the answer.  I just know that one day someone got through to me, and I hope to pay it forward and get through to someone else.  At Get Staffed Up, we believe that you delegate your way to freedom.  Simply put – what’s better, to own a fully staffed restaurant and only focus on creating the best experience for your customers?  Or to own the restaurant, and be the chef, and the waitress, and the host, and the dishwasher, and the bartender, and the bus boy…. you get the point.  By removing items (smaller ones first) from your plate, you create the time to be your best self.  You can then focus your time on your highest and best talents to create move value in the world.

What did we do in January through April to improve our business and make our lives – and the lives of our clients and employees – better?  In late March, we held our quarterly retreat and decided to hire yet another employee (more jobs), promote an employee to a management position, separate our sales and marketing coordinator positions, improve one of our Core Values, and assign 13 major goals for Q2.  Nothing earth-shattering, right?  Evaluate, make decisions, plan to achieve, take action.  It’s seems simple, and it is.  Simple can be very powerful. The day-long session brought clarity and created alignment, and has put us in position to continue to scale up.

One of my favorite sayings is “small hinges swing big doors.”  Take the time to THINK about your business at least one day per quarter, and even with small, strategic decisions, you’ll be amazed at your progress.

So, is it still “ONE DAY” you’ll make a change, or are you ready to make today “DAY ONE?”  If today is DAY ONE, we would love to find you an incredible, happy, hard-working (bilingual) receptionist, marketing assistant, personal/executive assistant or bookkeeper so that you can either stop the high-turnover at these positions or create more valuable time for yourself.
